Often when we feel restless, movement and action helps relieve that tension.
That is exactly why some of us go for a run or a walk and others connect with friends and family. By default, when a vacuum gets created, we feel the need to fill it with some sort of an engagement.
What comes easy in this time is being on social media platforms, a sort of an engagement that demands nothing, I mean going for a run or walk and connecting with other people demands some level of effort. But social media – demands none. We simply scroll.
Wrong!
Simply scroll may not seem effort filled but creates cognitive fatigue and emotional turmoil. Just think of that moment when your mood changed when you read something on social media.
The point is not to stop social media but to minimise it and never tell yourself the wrong story – simply scroll is effortless, because it is not.
"I attended your story telling course some time back. And I've enjoyed keeping up my knowledge with your blog. You may not have realised however, that the Whole of Government is implementing Internet Seperation. Hence I'm not able to access the links to read your articles. Could I suggest including a QR code in your emails so that I can use my mobile to scan it and gain immediate access to the article? It would be most helpful"
